Heavy rainfall has led to flooding and landslides in the Buleleng and Bangli regencies of Bali. At least six people were killed on 13 March.  Landslides triggered by heavy rains are a common occurrence in Indonesia, especially during the country's rainy season, which occurs annually from November to March. Further heavy rainfall is expected in Bali this week, increasing the risk of further flooding and landslides in vulnerable areas.

It is believed that approximately 200 passengers were onboard the ferry when it reportedly collided with another vessel and capsized; at least 35 passengers have thus far been rescued.
